The new Ironton-Russell bridge is set to open on Wednesday, Nov. 23, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Kathleen Fuller, spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Transportation said a ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for that date, with details to be announced soon.

“I’m talking with both mayors and we’re planning a community event, with a ribbon cutting, speakers and some surprises,” she said. “We hope to see everyone there.”
