Holiday activities throughout county

Thanksgiving and Christmas are seasons of giving, and no community comes together better during the holidays than Lawrence County.
Each year, schools, churches, civic groups and other organizations display their charitable sides by gathering and distributing food, toys and winter wear to those who need it most.
Some organizations have already been in touch with our staff to let us know what they are doing. St. Paul Lutheran Church will soon take orders for its 13th annual Christmas with Dignity food boxes. Organizers with Wreaths Across America are also prepping for their annual program at Woodland Cemetery.
Ironton and the surrounding villages are decorating storefronts and putting up lights and Christmas trees.
There are so many events each year, it’s hard to keep up with all the generous activities of the community. But that’s a good problem to have.
We would encourage any group or organization to contact our office as soon as possible to let us know about your holiday projects so we can help spread the word to the community.
The season of giving is a special time in Lawrence County and the more we can do to help inform the public, hopefully the more people will be served as a result.
