Leo Ulery

April 25, 1932 — Nov. 19, 2016

Leo Milton Ulery, 84, of Ironton, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at his residence. The Delaware County native was born April 25, 1932, the son of the late Leo Gerald Ulery Sr. and Rosa Day Ulery. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, or as he referred to her, “the prettiest flower in Sunbury,” L. Joan Crowl Ulery, who he married Oct. 26, 1952.
Mr. Ulery was a member of the last class to graduate from Sunbury High School in 1950 where he lettered in all four sports, football, basketball, baseball and track. He was a United States Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Matlack Trucking Company in Ironton in 1996 after nearly 40 years as their terminal manager. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ironton and the Masonic Lodge in Sunbury. He was a former Ironton City Councilman and enjoyed playing golf, motorcycles and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gordon Bruce Ulery.
He is survived by, in addition to his wife, four children, Debra (Richard) Blair, of Corolla, North Carolina, Rick Leo Ulery, of Ironton, Scott Ulery, of Ironton, and Laurie (Charlie) Roberts, of Ironton; seven grandchildren, Christopher Blair, Ashley Cooper, Alex Ulery, Eli Ulery, Seth Ulery, Brad Roberts and Andy Roberts; and eight great-grandchildren, Leah Blair, Jackson Blair, Jon Cooper, Max Cooper, Weston Cooper, Victoria Lynn Ulery, Landon Roberts and Gracie Roberts.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Tracy Brammer – Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Caleb LeFond officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by V.F.W. Post 8850.
The Ulery family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbears for the service will be Christopher Blair, Alex, Eli and Seth Ulery, and Brad, Andy and Charlie Roberts.

Tina Marie Webb, 32, of Ironton, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, at her residence.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Bowman Auditorium of the Ohio University Southern Campus and burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
