Many made health fair a success

On Monday, Nov. 14, many individuals participated in the 2016 Ironton Lions Diabetes Awareness Community Health Fair organized by the Ironton Lions Club.
Concerned individuals of various ages received free diabetes screenings, educational information, an opportunity to speak to medical professionals regarding a wide range of medical issues and health safety/security tips.
This year’s event was a success, in great part, because of the many medical providers and volunteers that shared their time and resources. Thanks to Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, Dr. Bill Basedow and staff, Area Agency on Aging District 7 (AAA7), Genesis, Care Source, Ironton City Health Department, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, Community Home Health Care, Patriot Emergency Medical Services, Unger’s Shoes, and Ironton Mayor Katrina Keith and the City of Ironton employees.
Our community has much to be proud of and this event played an important role in the continuation of a healthy future.
Thank you all.
