Martha Willis

June 12, 1935 — Dec. 3, 2016

Martha L. Willis, 81, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born June 12, 1935, a daughter of the late Harrison Martin and Ruth Bowman Martin.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Paul Willis, whom she married June 13, 1953.
Martha attended Ironton High School and was a longtime member of the 10th Street/First Tabernacle Church in Ironton. She was first and foremost a wife, mother and grandmother, but was also a former nursing assistant at Bayside Nursing Home in Boston, Massachusetts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Austin Thompson, Joseph Thompson II, and Kyzr Willis; five brothers, Jess, Carl, Willard, Marshall and Ralph Martin; and six sisters, Roberta Laber, Mary Morgan, Edith Lunsford, Arlene Crance, Catherine Wikoff and Ann Kelly.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by six children, Paul (Marilyn) Willis Jr., of Plymouth, Massachusetts, Ralph Willis, of Oakland, Maine, Donna (Roger) Thompson, of Ironton, Linda (Timothy) Bishop, of Wareham, Massachusetts, Gary (Laura) Willis, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, and Debbie (Vincent) Hasenauer, of Ironton; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Helen Willis, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and one brother, John Martin, of Sparrow Bush, New York.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Aaron Fields officiating. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Shirley Nottingham

Shirley Mae Nottingham, 80, of Proctorville, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. There will be private family visitation. Lance Dale Broughton, 67, of Chesapeake, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife, Donna Broughton.
