Woodland wreath ceremony set for Saturday

The laying of ceremonial wreaths is Saturday at Woodland Cemetery in Ironton.
The annual ceremony, which honors veterans, from each branch of the service, buried at the cemetery, is set for noon.
The speaker at the ceremony will be Chaplain Lt. Col. Wes Balmer, a native of Ironton, who ordained by the Churches of Christ.
Balmer enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1988 and his awards include the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal and the Global War on Terror Expeditionary medal.
His deployments include Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom. He currently serves as a deputy chaplain at Fort Bragg.
