Turner sparks Female Flyers’ win

WESTWOOD, Ky. — Morgan Turner stands just 5-feet tall, but she put up a giant game as far as the Fairview Lady Eagles are concerned.
Turner hit five 3-point goals and scored 21 points as the St. Joseph Female Flyers beat Fairview 41-34 on Friday.
Turner was instrumental in helping the Female Flyers build a first half lead and hold off a second half Lady Eagles’ rally.
Turner scored 7 points in the first quarter as St. Joseph (4-3) jumped in front 16-4.
She hit a pair of 3-pointers in the second quarter to offset 8 points by Fairview’s MacKenzie Humphrey and it was 26-14 at the half.
Fairview (4-3) cut the deficit to 32-27 after three quarters by outscoring St. Joseph 13-6. Turner accounted for the Female Flyers’ offense as she hit two more trifectas.
Ashlee Blankenship scored 4 points in the fourth quarter as St. Joseph outscored Fairview 9-6 to secure the win.
Humphrey had 21 points for the Lady Eagles.
St. Joseph hosts Portsmouth at 6 p.m. on Monday.
