Frances Lavendar

Aug. 15, 1939 — Dec. 16, 2016

Frances Parish Lavendar, 77, of Ashland, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at home. Fran was born Aug. 15, 1939, in Marks, Mississippi, to Davis and Louise (Garrett) Parish.
She married Fred Lavendar on Dec. 28, 1959. Fran was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mansfield. She loved sports, and in her adult years, took up tennis, which became one of her passions. Fran enjoyed spending time at home with the ones she loved. She was a mother first and cared so much for her family. Though a resident of Ohio for 55 years, she retained her southern charm and adapted well to marine life in California and family life in Ohio.
Fran will be deeply missed by her husband of 57 years; children, Kathleen (Tom) Metcalf, Sharon Lavendar, Carol-Ann (Gary) Cline, Dan (Michele) Lavendar and Tracy (Bill) Hohman; grandchildren, Aysha, Tyler (Molly), Tanner, Kevin, Alisha, Emily, Craig, Sarah, Meghan and Rachel; step grandchildren, Kyle and Phillip; great-grandchildren, Landon, Braylen, Keegan, Falyn and Camdin. She was known to them as “Grammy.” She is also survived by brother, Charles (Joan) Parish; and sister, Margie Rogers.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents;great-grandson, Robbie Clever; sister, Cornelia White; and nieces, Lynda and Karen White.
Family and friends may call from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland. Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1630 Ashland Road, Mansfield, with Father Nelson Beaver officiating. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park. Johnny Dameron Jr. 46, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center-Ironton Campus. The Lawrence County native was born Nov. 18, 1970, the son of the late Marylou Wilson Dameron and John Dameron, of South Point.
Johnny was a 1988 graduate of Ironton High School and a truck driver for BWC. He was of the Baptist faith and loved to ride his motorcycle.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rosa Wilson; grandmother, Blanche Wilson; and grandfather, Lindsey Wilson.
In addition to his father, he is survived by four sisters, and Vicki Lewis, of Ironton, and Johnda Reeves, Marjorie Bays and Eloise “Sage” Elswick, all of South Point; wife, Darlene Howard Dameron, of Greenup, Kentucky; aunt, Joann Wilson, of Ironton; uncle, Buster Wilson, of Ironton; nieces, Tasha Richendollar, of Ashland, Kentucky, Rachel Reeves, of South Point, and Ashley Cox, Kelli Spillman, Jessica Douglas and Christina Elswick, all of Ironton; nephews, Brad Hinman, of Ironton, Jerry Hinman, of Wheelersburg, Greg Cox, of Ironton, and Rodney Dameron, David Dameron, Justin Dameron and Aaron Elswick; stepdaughter, Taylor Paige Goble, of Greenup, Kentucky; and granddaughter, Hadleigh Raine Goble, of Greenup, Kentucky.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Kenny Waller officiating. Burial will follow in Hecla Cemetery and visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Mary Byrd

Mary Frances Byrd, 78 of South Point, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point, with Pastor Paul Michael Booth officiating.  Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park, Ashland, KY. Edward Bone

Edward “Eddie” Lee Bone, 41, of Proctorville, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. Donald Noble

Donald Noble; 58 of Wheelersburg, Noble Hill and Ironton areas of Lawrence County died Dec. 17, 2016, at the SOMC Hospice Care Center in Portsmouth. Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday Dec. 22, 2016, in the chapel of the Brown Funeral Chapel with Rev. Leroy Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckeye Cemetery. Jerry Riedel

June 19, 1958 — Dec. 18, 2016

Jerry Dean Riedel, 58, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016.  The Ironton native was born June 19, 1958, a son to Carrie Steed Riedel, of Ironton, and the late Frank Riedel.
Jerry was a 1976 graduate of Rock Hill High School. He was a former welder for Webb’s Machine Shop. He was a member of Junior Furnace Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, furniture building, farming and fishing. Jerry loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Riedel.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by four children, Chrissy (Ronnie) Cox, of Pedro, Crystal (Todd) Wilson, of Ironton, Brandi (Ryan) Burke, of Camden, New York, and Jerry Dean (Ashley) Riedel, Jr., of Ironton; 11 grandchildren, Morgan Riedel, McKenzee Delawder, Izaak Cox, Kaitlyn Wilson, Blake Wilson, Kiera Burke, Brayden Burke, Ethan Riedel, Jordan Riedel, Tristan Riedel and Abbey Riedel; two brothers, Frank “Donnie” (Elizabeth) Riedel, of Ashland, Kentucky, and Johnny Riedel, of Ironton
two sisters, Betty (Ronnie) Cade, of Ironton, and Lena (Roger) Lampley, of El Paso, Texas; and friend, Kenny Jenkins, of Franklin Furnace.

Frank Lundy, Jr.

Frank Everett Lundy, Jr., 64, of South Point died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Lundy. Private family services will be held. Cathy Clutters

Cathy Lynn Clutters, 60, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Dec. 19, 2016 at the St. Mary’s Medical Center-Ironton Campus. The Ashland, Kentucky native was born Nov. 26, 1956, a daughter of the late George Hamlin Jr. and Lois Hayes Hamlin. She is survived by her husband George Clutters Jr., whom she married March 26, 1976.
Mrs. Clutters was a 1974 graduate of Boyd County High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and loved spending time with her grandkids and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, George Clutters III.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Jamie (Jason) Pennington, of Ironton, and Janice (Chris) Rose, of South Point; a son, Joshua (Michelle) Clutters, of Flatwoods, Kentucky; a brother, Timothy Hamlin, of Ashland, and many granazdchildren.
A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio with Br. Dave Schug officiating. Christopher Stephen Ward 25, of Proctorville, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2016. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.
