Phillip Daniels

April 23, 1935 — Dec. 21, 2016

Phillip Gail Daniels, 81, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky.The Portsmouth native was born April 23, 1935, the son to the late Jason and Lucy (Hillman) Daniels.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 41 years, Donna Bryant Daniels, who passed away May 15, 1998.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Jenkins) Daniels, whom he married June 28, 2003.
Mr. Daniels was a 1953 graduate of Rock Hill High School. He was an Engineering Technician for the U.S. Forest Service retiring in 1994 with 30 years of service.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the years of 1954-1957 and was stationed in Korea.  Phillip was a Christian and attended Fairview Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time outdoors.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by brother, Charles Daniels.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kenneth Daniels, of Ironton, and Phillip A. “Tony” (Tammy) Daniels, of South Point; daughter, Tammi (Dr. Scott) Frisbie, of Mt. Dora, Florida; seven grandchildren, Angela Crum, of South Point, Brandon Daniels of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mason Daniels, of Hawaii, Melanie Daniels, of Ironton, Zachary Frisbie, of Michigan, and Emily Frisbie and Adam Frisbie, both of Mt. Dora, Florida; sister, Betty Hill, of Ironton; brother, Robert Daniels, of Columbus; three great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends that will mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with Dr. Scott Frisbie and pastor Roger Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Wilgus, with military rites provided by VFW Post 8850. Charlotte Ball

Charlotte L. Ball, 84, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky, after a short illness. She was born March 9, 1932. She was a daughter of the late Roy Ellis Unrue and Esta Johnson Unrue.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, John Junior Ball; son, John Ellis Ball; four daughters, Dianna Lattimer, Patricia Ball, Tamara Marie Morris and Ameillia A. Abrams; one brother, Gary E. Unrue; two sisters, Gloria Unrue Nichols and Bonnie Unrue Nichols; one granddaughter, Yolanda Ball; one daughter-in-law, Tammy Ball; and two special friends, Leroy Richendollar and Columbus Dolin.
She is survived by three sons, Elden Roy Ball, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, George (Sheila) Ball, of Alma, Georgia, and Alan (Bernice) Unrue, of Ironton; one grandson she helped raise, Danny Ball; a special grandson, Eric (Amanda) Crager; son-in-law, Jim Morris; daughter-in-law, Joyce Ball; 13 grandsons and six granddaughters; and many great-grandchildren. She loved them all very much.
Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by pastor James Cremeans. Burial will follow in Ogle Cemetery, Buchanan, Kentucky. Lou Ann Walden

Lou Ann Walden, 64, of  Cincinnati, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at a local nursing facility in Ironton. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Highland Memorial Gardens. Clifford Marquardt

Clifford Lee Marquardt, 79, of South Point, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at Rivers Bend Health Care, South Point. He is survived by his wife, Paula Marquardt.
