Lou Ann Walden
March 17, 1952 — Dec. 21, 2016

Lou Ann Walden, 64, of Cincinnati, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at a local nursing facility in Ironton. Lou Ann was born March 17, 1952, in Ironton, a daughter to the late Ralph and Mary (Hefner) Walden.
Miss Walden was a 1970 graduate of South Point High School, and received her Bachelor Degree from Ohio University in 1974. She was a Grant Writer for small business loans for the Hamilton County Development Corporation for 19 years in Cincinnati. She loved watching her two favorite sporting teams, the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals, and was of the protestant faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Leland Walden; and sister-in-law, Karen Walden.
She is survived by two brothers, Thomas “Tom” Walden, of Ironton, and Harold “Patty” Walden, of South Point; sister-in-law, Marge Walden, of Springfield; godson, Nathaniel Kline, of Ironton; two nieces; four nephews; five great-nieces; four great-nephews; two great-great-nieces; one great-great-nephew; and close family friend,  Ralph Kline, of Ironton.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Highland Memorial Gardens. There will be no public visitation. The family request in lieu of flowers that donation be made in Lou Ann’s name to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Avenue, Ashland, KY 41101 or the charity of your choice. May F. Hamm, 92, formerly of South Point, passed away Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016, at Crystal Care Center in Coal Grove. The Lawrence County native was born Nov. 30, 1924, the daughter of the late Ora McDaniel and Nona Hazel Sword McDaniel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marvin R. Hamm, who passed away April 17, 1994.
May was a homemaker and a member of the Apostolic Gospel Church for over 40 years.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, James L. Hamm and Marvin Hamm Jr.; four brothers, Robert, Homer, William and Clarence McDaniel; one sister, Betty Lou Hackworth.
She is survived by three children, Ronald F. (Jo) Hamm, of Ironton; Ruth Ann (Steve) McIntyre, of Harrison, and Nancy Mae (David) McClurg of Portsmouth; two daughters-in-law, Joyce Hamm of Middletown and Kay Hamm of South Point; 12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; a sister: Thelma Jane Ford of Ironton.

Trubby Howard
April 10, 1947—Dec, 23, 2016

Trubby Howard, 69, of Coal Grove, passed away at his residence on Friday, Dec. 23, 2016. The Morehead, Kentucky native was born April 10, 1947, a son of the late Randolph and Olive Humphreys Howard. He was preceded in death by his wife Vera Carmon Howard, who passed away Dec. 25, 2001.
Mr. Howard attended school in Rowan County, Kentucky. He was a former cook for Plaza 52 truck stop, retiring in 1988 after 18 years of service. He was a huge Reds fan, loved to play with his granddaughter, great granddaughter and his dogs, Elvis, Pepper, Joey and Bronson. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by twin infant daughters,
three sisters, Dorothy Toadvine, Patsy Stevens and Beverly Howard; a brother, Alley Howard.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Lou Scott, of The Plains; a son, Trubby (Robin) Howard II of Springdale; a daughter, Tayna Howard of Coal Grove; a granddaughter: Kelsey Scott, of The Plains; a great granddaughter: Gabrielle Winchell, of The Plains.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, with Pastor Larry Craft officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Tammy Myers
Aug. 3, 1959 —Dec 23, 2016

Tammy Myers age 57 of Deering, passed peacefully surround by loved ones on December 23, 2016. Tammy was born Aug. 3, 1959 in Lawrence County, to Mary Ann (Corn) Myers and the late Gary “Perk” Myers.
Tammy was pretty in purple and loved Barry Manilow and her Persian cat Max. She made friends wherever she visited and was loved by all. She was a member of Ice Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by her sister Dee Dee Myers Smith and brother-in-law Philip of Cary, North Carolina; sister Stephanie Myers of Deering; brother Shayne Myers and sister-in-law Becky of Deering; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister Annette Myers.
A visitation will be today from 4:30-6 p.m.  Funeral service will follow visitation at O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home. Internment will be at a later date.
