Kevin Barcus
March 3, 1971 — Dec. 23, 2016

Kevin Barcus of Kitts Hill, passed away Dec. 23, 2016.
Born March 3, 1971, the son of Donald D. and Lois Kelly Barcus, Kevin worked at the Ohio Valley Youth Center four years, Cabletron, Pyrochem, and Barcus Pool Supplies. He also worked at Ohio University Proctorville Center for 13 years in facilities. Kevin’s hobbies that he loved were fishing, hunting, four wheeling, drag racing and watching Nascar. In his youth, he loved to raccoon hunt with the Depriest boys.
Kevin loved his family and friends. Kevin was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and a member of the Pride of Lawrence County Marching Band directed by David Bare. Kevin never met a stranger and he loved fishing Brush Creek with his brother Kenny. Kevin would help anyone in need for a chore. Kevin will be missed by family and friends. Kevin acknowledged to his family that he suffered with bipolar depression. Kevin felt that bipolar depression is a serious disease and a cure needs to be found and better treatment. He also suffered from COPD and was diabetic.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Mamre Gymnasium, with pastor John Paul Patterson officiating.

Wanda Gillette
Wanda Gillette, 91, of Proctorville, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016, at Village of Riverview in Barboursville, West Virginia.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery in Proctorville. Visitation take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

Bob Smith
Bob Smith, 75, of Proctorville, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington. He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Smith.

Clarence Hayes
Clarence Herbert Hayes, 84, of London, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, in Columbus.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Crossroads Community Church, with Pastor Thad Gifford officiating. Interment will follow in Big Plain Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 4-8 p.m. on Monday.

Leona Smith, 93, of Scottown, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at home. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete.
