Student in hospital after run-in with vehicle

PROCTORVILLE — A student was taken to the hospital after a run-in with a vehicle on Tuesday.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a school bus, traveling northbound on County Route 107 stopped to pick up students at about 7:35 a.m.
According to the patrol, a driver of a Suburu Outback, traveling southbound, stopped for the yellow light, then accelerated for the red light. The student, crossing the road, ran into the vehicle.
The student was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington. The driver of the Outback was charged with failure to stop for the bus signal.
