Sandra Fernie Yates, 69, of Ironton, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born Nov. 27, 1947, the daughter of the late Hubert and Margret Saunders Callicoat.
Mrs. Yates attended Symmes Valley Schools and was a Baptist. She attended Woodland Chapel Church and was a self-employed caregiver for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Ray Yates; and two sisters, Vickie Simpson and Linda White.
She is survived by a son, Roger (Bobbi) Yates, of Ironton; son, Mark “Bub” Yates of Ironton; daughter, Tina (Greg) Massie, of Ironton; daughter, Gayle Yates, of Ironton; seven grandchildren, Crystal (Shawn) Hanshaw, Tricia Yates, Greggie Massie, Ethan McKnight, Kaylee Yates, Ricky Yates, all of Ironton, and Ashley Yates, of Springfield; five great grandchildren; a sister, Toni (Kevin) Ferguson, of Wilgus; and three brothers, Kenny (Connie) Callicoat, Ronald (Wanda) Callicoat, and Jackie (Esther) Callicoat, all of Wilgus.
Funeral services will be noon Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh St. in Ironton, with Bro. Dave Schug officiating.  Burial will follow in Hecla Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Donations can be made to the funeral home to help the family with funeral expenses. Nicholas Boggs
Nicholas James Boggs, 88, of Proctorville, formerly of Huntington, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at the Wyngate at RiversEdge in Proctorville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Charlotte Boggs. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Huntington. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery in Huntington.  Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service at the church. Mary Edwards, 78, of New Haven, West Virginia, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at Pleasant Valley Hospital, Pleasant Valley, West Virginia. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete.
Rosemary Snyder
Rosemary F. Snyder, 83, of South Point, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at her residence. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point, with Pastor Gary Henry officiating. Burial will follow at Rome Cemetery in Proctorville. Murray Marion Winters, 69, of Wheelersburg, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at the VA Medical Center in Huntington. A graveside service with military honors will be held at a later date.
