PEDRO — Oh what a Webb we weave.
Sydney Webb, that is.
The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers’ senior guard sent the basketball laces through the nets with four 3-pointers and scored 20 points to lead three players in double figures in a 67-33 Ohio Valley Conference win over the Rock Hill Redwomen on Monday.
Lexie Arden had 14 points and Alyssa Lewis scored 13 as Ironton improved to 14-4 overall and took a half-game lead over idle Fairland in the OVC at 10-1.
Maddie Scott had eight points for Rock Hill (6-12, 2-9) who again played without center Anna Darby.
Webb jumped started the Lady Tigers with a pair of 3-pointers and Arden had four points as Ironton built an 18-5 first quarter lead.
Webb continued her assault in the second quarter with another trifecta as she scored seven pints while Lewis and Arden had five points each and the lead was 34-12 at the break.
Lexi Wise scored seven of her nine points in the third quarter, Webb again scored seven points including a deep ball from the arc, and Arden added six more points as the Lady Fighting Tigers erupted for 27 points to build a 61-20 cushion.
Caitlin Meadows scored four of her five points in the fourth quarter as Rock Hill outscored Ironton 13-6.
On Thursday, Ironton visits Chesapeake while Rock Hill hosts Coal Grove.
