Lady Pointers stop Redwomen

SOUTH POINT — The starting time didn’t seem to matter to the South Point Lady Pointers.
Playing in a post-lunch assembly game, the Lady Pointers beat the Rock Hill Redwomen 57-35 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Thursday.
Emilee Whitt scored 14 points and Brooklyn Badgett scored 11 to lead South Point (13-8, 9-5).
Anna Darby scored 10 points for Rock Hill (7-15, 3-11).
South Point went up 6-3 after the first quarter as Whitt scored four points.
Whitt got the hot hand in the second quarter as she scored 10 points including a pair of 3-pointers as the lead grew to 26-10 at the half. Leah Lawson and Badgett added four points each.
Badgett hit a 3-pointer and scored five points while Lawson and Elisha Spencer had four each in the third quarter and it was 47-26. Darby and Maddy Scott got six points each and Jill Hairston hit a 3-pointer for Rock Hill.
Emilee Carey got all five of her points in the fourth quarter for South Point. Rileigh Morris had four and Gracie Stevens hit a trifecta for Rock Hill.
