Pauline Brown

Mach 9, 1930 — Feb. 12, 2017

Pauline R. Brown, 86, of Ironton, passed away at home on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017. The Ohio Furnace native was born March 9, 1930, the daughter of the late Charles and Nella Barker Stapleton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew F. Brown. She was a homemaker and a member of Sharon Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda K. Carmon; a son-in- law, Gary L. Carmon; four sisters, Thelma Otworth, Mildred Blevins, Clotine Lavender and Juanita Williams; and four brothers, James Stapleton, Glen Stapleton, Edward Stapleton and Everett (Bill) Stapleton.
Survivors include a son, Donald R. (Shellie) Brown, of Shawnee, Oklahoma; granddaughters, April Carmon, of Ironton, Ashley Carmon, of Ironton, and Stephanie Brown, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandson, Andy Brown, of New Castle, Oklahoma; a sister, Helen Gollihugh, of Ohio Furnace; and a special niece, Mary Blevins, of Ironton.
Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, with pastor Steve Harvey officiating. Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.

Rhonda Curnell

Rhonda Sue Curnell, 53, of Ironton, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, at the Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky. Funeral services will be noon Wednesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with pastor Gary Henry officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Betty Ann Joseph, 69, of Ironton, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky. She is survived by her husband, Larry Joseph. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Dave Schug and Jimmy Kimble  officiating. Burial will follow in Mamre Cemetery and visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Wednsday at the funeral home.

David Kilburn

David Lynn Kilburn, 62, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at home. He is survived by his wife, Gathel Stapleton. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Pentecostal Holiness Tabernacle, Flatwoods, Kentucky, with pastor Lloyd L. Bailey and Brother Greg Gilliam officiating. Burial will follow in Argilite, Kentucky. Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey Family Funeral Home, Flatwoods, Kentucky.
