Dovie Gleichauf

Jan. 8, 1924 — Feb. 12, 2017

Dovie Ellen Fields Gleichauf, 93, of Ironton, entered into eternal life, Sunday, Feb., 12, at her residence. The Logan County, West Virginia native was born on Jan. 8, 1924, the daughter of the late Walker Franklin and Maggie Osborne Fields. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Carl Edward Gleichauf, who passed away Dec. 28th, 2003.
Mrs. Gleichauf was a graduate of Man High School in West Virginia. She was also a graduate of Ashland Business College. After graduation, she relocated to Ironton, where she was employed by the Ohio Bell Telephone Company as a supervisor. She was later employed by the Lawrence County Medical Center, as a switchboard operator, retiring after 28 years of service. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and held various offices in the Catholic Women’s Club.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Chester William and Billy Ray Fields, both of Amherstdale, West Virginia.
She is survived by three daughters, Carla Suzanne (Joseph) Crimaldi, of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, and Jennifer Ellen (Donald) Golightly and Marty Elayne (JimBill) Fairchild, all of Russell, Kentucky; two sons, Christopher Edward (Patty) Gleichauf and Dr. Carl Anthony (Kim) Gleichauf, all of Ironton; eight grandchildren, Dr. Joseph Christian Crimaldi, of Mobile, Alabama, Matthew Chad Crimaldi, of Sarasota, Florida, C. Michael (Allison) Gleichauf, of Ironton, Mollie Suzanne (Dr. Phillip) Lackey, of Coal Grove, and Mark Anthony (Michael Leighann) Gleichauf, Logan Agustus Gleichauf, James Seth Kelley and Alaina Kelley Gleichauf, all of Ironton; and 10 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Lackey, Be’la Delawder, Payne Delawder, Mary Charlotte Lackey, Maximus Gleichauf, Michael Gleichauf, Morgan Gleichauf, McKenzie Gleichauf, Josie Gleichauf, and Griffin Lackey.
She is also survived by one sister-in law, Jutta Gleichauf, of Rochester, Minnesota.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Crimaldi, Donald Golightly, JimBill Fairchild, C. Michael Gleichauf, Mark Gleichauf, and Payne Delawder
Honorary Pallbearers are Logan Gleichauf, Seth Kelley, Maximus Gleichauf, Michael Gleichauf, Morgan Gleichauf and Griffin Lackey
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ironton, with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery and visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of followers, the family requests that donations be made to The National Shrine of St. Jude, Chicago. Wanda Triplett

April 28, 1939 — Feb. 14, 2017

Wanda Louann Triplett, 77, of South Point, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky. Wanda was born April 28, 1939, in Benton County, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Earl Edward and Jennie Irene Elliot Burch.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Clark; and a brother, Lloyd Burch.
She was a graduate of South Point High School, retired from Ashland Oil after 18 years and a member of South Fork Regular Baptist Church in Worthington, Kentucky.
Wanda is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Triplett; a daughter, Sharon (Steve) Dolin, of South Point; a son, William J. (Laura) Triplett, of Coal Grove; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robbie Burch, of Arkansas. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with Elder Willis Tolliver officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Shanda Tackett

Shanda Gail Tackett, 58, of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky.

Alma Maynard

Alma G Maynard, 65, of South Point, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky.

Edna Spears

Edna F. Spears, 86, of Proctorville, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Neal Cemetery, Milton, West Virginia. There will be no visitation. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
