Ronald Martin

Oct. 26, 1947 — Feb. 11, 2017

Ronald Joseph Martin, 69, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. The Lawrence County native was born Oct. 26, 1947, the son of the late Walter C. Martin and Mary Harmon Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Martin, whom he married on Nov. 28, 1969.
Ronald was a graduate of Ironton High School and an operator for Marathon Petroleum, where he worked for 25 years and retired in 2010. He is a United States Army Veteran and was a VA Commissioner for Lawrence County.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter C. Martin, Jr.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Joe Martin, of Pedro; son, Travis (Jennifer) Martin, of Troy; grandchildren, Cade Martin, of Ashland, Kentucky, Claire Martin, of Troy, and Chase Martin, of Troy; and two sisters-in-law, Sue Martin, of Pedro, and Lisa (Arthur) Myers, of Ironton.
The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Zoar Baptist Church with pastor James Beals officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery with military graveside rites by Waterloo VFW Post 2761. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the VFW Post 2761 of Waterloo, Ohio. Phillips Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Audrey Adkins

Audrey Rose Adkins, 93, of South Point, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by pastor Jerry Galloway. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Proctorville. Antonita “Toni” Bocook, 85, of Burrton, Kansas, formerly of South Point, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Raymond “Ray” Bocook.

Harry Highstone

Harry Robert “Bob” Highstone, 80, of Russell, Kentucky, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Carol Hall.

Gerald Hooper

Gerald Clyde Hooper, 83, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. He is survived by his wife, Karen Byrd Hooper.
Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday at Apostolic Life Cathedral Church, Huntington. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
