Billie Jean Litton

Jan. 24, 1939 — Feb. 16, 2017

Billie Jean Litton, 78, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. The Pikeville, Kentucky native was born Jan. 24, 1939, the daughter of the late Estel and Della Anderson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Mervin “Bill” Litton, who passed away on Feb. 21, 1981.
Billie attended Decatur Schools and was a homemaker. She is a member of The City Mission Church in Ironton and loved her Lord and Savior. She enjoyed attending church and playing bingo with her friends at the nursing home.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Charlie and Mervin Litton; and two daughters, Julie Russell and Helen Litton.
She is survived by four daughters, Bonnie (Eugene) Woods, of Ironton, Juanita Litton, of Huntington, West Virginia, Debbie (Suzette) Litton, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, and Yvonne (John) Hogan, of Columbus; three sons, Donald (Malissa) Litton, of Ironton, Bill (Lynda) Litton, of Ironton, and Richard Litton, of Ironton; a brother, Ronnie Anderson, of Pedro; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the City Mission Church in Ironton with the Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Furnace Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, and 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the City Mission Church. Jefferson Miller

Jefferson H. (Jeff) Miller, of Waterloo, passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017. The Lawrence County native was born Feb. 14, 1952, at home, a son of the late Foster and Emogene Malone Miller. He is leaving behind his loving wife of 21 years, Karen Vogt Miller, who survives; and his best girl, Abbi.
Jeff graduated from Rock Hill High School and was a former employee of the Sohio Station in Ironton, ARMCO Steel in Ashland, Kentucky and retired from the BASF (Sunoco/Aristech/Tenn-USS) Plant in Pasadena, Texas. He served in the Ohio Army National Guard. He attended Slabfork United Methodist Church, loved hunting, fishing, boating, camping, building decks, helping people, cooking and sharing his famous Texas smoked brisket and ribs and raising a garden.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Banks.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a son, Jeffrey Miller, of Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Kimberly (Charles) Perkins, of Waldorf, Maryland; a sister, Agnes (Larry) Knipp, of Waterloo; a brother, John (Shirley) Miller, of Grayson, Kentucky; a brother-in-law, Don (Missy) Banks, of Ironton; a sister-in-law, Debra Vogt, of McKeesport, Pennsylvania; special friends, James (Sherry) Broughton, of Rockport, Texas, and Darrell (Beverly) Rothwell, of LaPorte, Texas; grandchildren, Chase and Athena Miller and Kari, C.J. and Olivia Perkins; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of Jeff’s life will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Tim Knipp and pastor Clyde Pennington officiating. Visitation will be noon until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Millard Callicoat

Millard F. Callicoat, 74, of Scottown, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Karen Miller Callicoat. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Proctorville. Sandra Lee Trent, 76, formerly of Salt Rock, West Virginia, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, in Saratoga, Texas. A celebration of life service will be at a later date. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is assisting the family with local arrangements.
