Ironton officials to hold
youth tournament
The Ironton Chapter of Basketball Officials Association will conduct its second annual Biddy Ball Tournament to be held March 16-19 at Coal Grove middle and high schools.
Entry fee is $100 and teams are guaranteed four games. Entry deadline is Sunday, March 12 and there is a $25 deposit per team.
The tournament is for girls and boys’ teams in grades 4-5-6. The tournament uses registered high school officials from the Ironton chapter.

Proceeds benefit two scholarships given to local high school students.
Lady Vikings softball
plans rummage sale
The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings’ softball team will conduct its ninth annual rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, at the high school.
Any persons wanting to make a donation should drop off items at the school from 3-8 p.m. on Friday, March 3, or contact coach Jeff “Odie” Estep at (749) 643-2371 (school) or 643-2021 (home).
Former Rio star forming
frosh hoops club team
Former Ironton All-Ohio basketball player and University of Rio Grande captain and standout Travis Elliott is inviting interested players to join a basketball club team based out of Jackson that will be comprised of boys who are current freshmen.

Men’s, co-ed softball
tournaments March 11-12
Men’s and Coed Spring Fling slow-pitch softball tournaments, will be held March 11-12, respectively, in Huntington, WVa., at St. Clouds Fields.
Teams will be guaranteed four games and the entry fee will be $175.00.
Home-runs are limited to three and teams will hit your own .44 core 400-lb compression or less softballs.
