Zimmerman Riley

June 8, 1925 — March 19, 2017

Zimmerman Riley, 91, of Chesapeake, died Sunday, March 19, 2017. He was born June 8, 1925, in Huntington, West Virginia, a son of the late Eugene and Etta Zimmerman Riley. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Jessie L. Bias Riley; and one sister, Doris Higgins.
He was the co-owner of Southern Machine and Repair Shop and was a machinist and repairman for the Ohio River Co. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, a member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church, American Legion Post 640, and Eastern Star Teresa Chapter 256 of Proctorville. Zim was also a 32nd Degree Mason and a 60-year member of the Masonic Lodge 550 F and AM, Proctorville.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Lee (Mays) Riley; one son, Michael Riley, of Chesapeake; three daughters, Rebecca (James) Smith, DeAnna (Ronald) Schotts and Debra (Roger) Tabor, all of Proctorville; one stepdaughter, Debbie (Steve) Saxton, of Huntington West Virginia; one brother, George Riley, of Encino, California; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Danny) Lykins, Christopher (Tina) McComas, Shanna Neil, Tiffany Mills, Jessica Tabor, and Cassie Tabor; two step-grandchildren, Amy Saxton and Shaun (Tiffany) Saxton; six great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with pastors Jackie Clark and Mark Roach officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with Masonic rites at 7:30 pm. David Frazer

April 7, 1951 — March 16, 2017

David Phillip Frazer, 65, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born April 7, 1951, a son of the late Charles W. and Georgia Rosemary Deere Frazer.
Dave was a 1969 graduate of Ironton High School and a 1973 graduate of Ohio University and received his Master’s Degree from Morehead State University. He was a retired teacher and Vice Principal at South Point Middle School, where he coached basketball and track. He was a member of the Ironton City Council, served on the Woodland Cemetery Board and officiated many ballgames for over 30 years.
He is survived by a son, Ian Frazer, of Ironton; a brother, Charlie (Mary Jo) Frazer, of Lawco Lake; two nieces, Jennifer (Scott) Kellogg, of Ashland, Kentucky, and Joi Frazer, of Ironton; and a nephew, Chad (Melissa) Frazer, of Columbus.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Terry Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Gail Coffman

Dec. 3, 1951 — March 18, 2017

Gail Marie Unrue Coffman, 65, of Ironton, lost her battle with cancer on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. The Ironton native was born Dec. 3, 1951, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Valaria Lyons Unrue. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald “Donnie” L. Coffman, who passed away June 21, 2007.
Mrs. Coffman was a graduate of Ironton High School and a former laboratory technician at the River Valley Health System for 31 years, retiring in 2001. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling and shopping. She occasionally attended the First Baptist Church in Ironton.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Patricia A. Fowler, Connie M. Unrue and Janice E. Bunn.
She is survived by her son, Lucas (Macie) Coffman, of Gallipolis; brother, Kenneth C. Jr. (Cathie) Unrue, of Florida; two brothers-in-law, David Bunn and Jack Wade; three sisters-in-law, Lillian Brown, Juanita (John) Paholsky and Sue Coffman; and several loving nieces and nephew.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Danny Pancake officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Her son, Lucas (Macie) Coffman, would like to send a special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff at Pleasant Valley Hospital regarding the special treatment that was provided.

Beatrice Clark
Beatrice Mae Hamlin Clark, 77, of South Point, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Dean Clark.
She is survived by loving companion and best friend, Willie Clark; two sons, Larry (Teresa) Clark and Gary Clark, both of South Point; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Burd, of Proctorville.
She was a lifelong resident of Lawrence County.
A graveside service will be conducted noon Thursday at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. There will be no visitation. Carolyn Sue Handley, 70, of Palm Coast, Florida, formerly of Proctorville, died Thursday, March 16, 2017, at home.

Clifford Wilson, Jr.

Clifford G. Wilson, Jr., of 83, of Proctorville, died Friday, March 17, 2017, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Alice Charlene Hickman Wilson.
