AID — That’s better.
After not playing well in their first two games on Saturday, the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings bounced back with a 13-5 win over the Chesapeake Lady Panthers on Monday.
“We made our plays today and put the ball in play as well,” said Lady Vikings’ coach Jeff “Odie” Estep.
Taylor Webb went 4-4 with a double and a triple and Sarah Kingery was 4-5 with a double and a triple to lead a 16-hit attack for the Lady Vikings (1-2).
Sierra Ross was 2-5, Hailee Littlejohn 2-2 with a double, Mandi Ball and Emily Sharp 2-2 and Rachael Hayes 1-2 to aid the offense.
Ryleigh Swann was 2-4 with a double and Jordan Storms 2-4 for Chesapeake.
Brooke Webb hit a home run in the top of the first to put Chesapeake up 1-0.
But the Lady Vikings answered as Kingery singled, Webb doubled her home, then stole second and came home on a passed ball.
Ross had a two-run singled and Webb a two-run double as the Lady Vikings went up 6-1 in the second.
Kingery had a two-run triple as the Lady Vikings scored four more runs in the third to lead 10-1.
Chesapeake used an error, a double by Swann, singles by Spears and Storms and a two-run double by Tackett to score four runs in the fifth.
But the Lady Vikings got three insurance runs in the sixth.
Symmes Valley hosts Green on Wednesday. Chesapeake hosts Portsmouth West on Tuesday.
