Robert Null

Robert (Bob) Leon Null, 79, of Willow Wood, departed this life peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at St Mary’s Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Geraldine Barker Null; a daughter, Cynthia (Curtis); one son, Greg (Ronda); three grandsons, Michael (Nicole), Robert II, and Gregory; three cousins, Betty Dilley, Dale Holschuh and Alma Ellcesor; and a host of family and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Helen Null.
Bob was a member of Crown City Masonic Lodge #536 F and AM. He was also a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason with Valley of Cincinatti, as well as a Shriner with Beni Kedem Shrine in Charleston, West Virginia, and a Kentucky Colonel. Bob started his career at Terrell Tool and Die before going to Huntington Plating. From there, he founded Nulls Machine and Manufacturing, where he obtained many patents on parts. Even after retiring, Bob was always coming up with new ideas and ways of doing things. Bob enjoyed horses, and he had Mr. Impress Ability, a Superior champion stallion quarter horse. Bob enjoyed boats and fishing, especially at his Florida home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the St Mary’s Medical Center Foundation 2900 First Avenue Huntington, WV 25702. The family would like to say a special thank you to the sixth floor at St. Mary’s Medical Center including Heather and Barbara. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Schneider-Hall funeral home in Chesapeake, with Masonic services being conducted at 7:45 p.m. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home, Chesapeake, with pastor Randy Henderson officiating. Billy Joe Ellison

April 4, 1928 — March 26, 2017

Billy Joe Ellison, 88, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017, at his residence. The Bellepoint, West Virginia native was born April 4, 1928, a son of the late Erby D. and Muriel Brubaker Ellison. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Lee Thompson Ellison, who passed away Jan. 8, 2017.
Mr. Ellison was a former machinist, and teacher at the Ashland Community and Technical College and was a member of the Tri-State Baptist Church in South Point.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Howard Ellison.
He is survived by a daughter, Susan Kerns, of Ironton; a sister, Dorthea Capps, of Florida; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Tim Jayne officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave. Ashland, KY 41101. Gary Sexton, 83, of Lancaster, died Sunday, March 26, 2017, at home. He is survived by his wife, Linda Sexton. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.

Dorothy Slack

Dorothy A. Slack, 88, of Chesapeake, died Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Heartland of Riverview, South Point. Funeral service will be 7 p.m. today at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with Jerry Greenslait and Willie Purdee officiating. Burial will be later at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville.
