SP blanks Fairland, 13-0

PEDRO — The South Point Pointers know how to use all their assets.
The Pointers parlayed seven hits, 12 walks and four errors into a 15-0 win over the Fairland Dragons on Monday in the Rock Hill Wooden Bat Classic.
The Pointers (3-0) had seven hits led by Travis Dillon who was 1-2 with four runs batted in and Beau Taylor who went 2-3 with a double.
Logan Wade was 1-2 with a double and an RBI, Logan Rose and Tanner Hall 1-1 and Douglas Shaffer 1-2.
Kyle Rankin was 1-1 and Eli Bowen 1-2 for Fairland’s hits.
Brody Blackwell worked 3.2 innings to get the win. He struck out eight, walked one and gave up two hits. Wade went the first 1.1 innings and struck out all four batters he faced.
South Point took a 3-0 lead in the first inning when Colton Napier and Tanner Hall walked, Jonathan Henline reached on an error, Dillon singled and Taylor doubled.
The lead went to 7-0 in the second.
Drew Smith walked, Shaffer singled, Napier had a sacrifice bunt, Wade doubled and Hall singled.
South Point got its final six runs in the third inning.
Drake McClure, Shaffer, Napier, Wade, Hall and Henline all walked, Dillon was safe on an error and Taylor singled.
The second game on Monday between Green and Rock Hill was postponed due to lightening.
The two teams play in the Wooden Bat Classic on Tuesday.
