Francis Hewitt

June 16, 1954 — March 30, 2017

Francis Marion “Moon Dog” Hewitt, 62, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017, at a local health care center.  The Ironton native was born June 16, 1954, the son of the late Francis Marion Hewitt and Betty Cutlip Hewitt.
Francis attended Ironton High School and was a United States Army veteran.  He was a former employee of Gulf Chemical and the Dayton Malleable Iron Company in Ironton as well as Elam’s Coal Dock in Coal Grove. He was a member of the Ironton V.F.W. Post 8850 and the Ironton Moose Lodge 701.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Becky Miller Jackson.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Kay Craig Hewitt, who he married Oct. 11, 1974; daughter, Amy Hewitt Delawder, of Ironton; his special granddog, Nala; brother, Tim (Gayle) Hewitt, of Chesapeake; sister, Leah Rae (Raymond) Eicher, of Ironton; and brother-in-law, Jim Jackson, of Ironton.
He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends
There will be no services. Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, is assisting the Hewitt family with the arrangements.

Dallas Brammer

Dallas G. Brammer, 85, of Chesapeake, died Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, West Virginia.  He is survived by his wife, Dotty Roush Brammer. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Berkley R. Carrico, 59, of South Point, died Thursday, March 30, 2017, at his residence.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lick Creek Independent Baptist Church with pastors Mike Dement, Pat Burnett and Paul Toney officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
