If the St. Joseph Female Flyers ever decide to play Blackjack, look for them to double down.
It seems that’s all the Female Flyers have been doing later after winning their third doubleheader in as many tries after rolling past the Hannan Lady Wildcats 15-0 and 14-1 on Saturday.
The Female Flyers jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first inning of the first game and coasted to the five-inning win.
Alex Holtzapfel won her fifth game in seven decisions as she allowed just one hit while striking out nine.
Kelsey Malone led a 10-hit attack for St. Joseph as she went 3-for-3.
It was Ashley Bartram and Malone leading the way in the second game as they knocked out three hits each.
Megan Riley was 2-2 and unloaded her second home run of the season that put the game out of reach.
Malone not only provided some punch for the offense but fired a two-hitter to get her second win of the season. She struck out five and the defense backed her with a pair of double plays.
St. Joseph is now 7-2 on the season and visits Fairland on Tuesday.
