Faro, Blue Devils get 4-0 win over Dragons

GALLIPOLIS — Josh Faro pitched a five-hitter as the Gallipolis Blue Devils blanked the Fairland Dragons 4-0 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Friday.
Faro struck out 13 and walked two in going the distance for the win.
Dylan Raines took the loss. He allowed only six hits, struck out three and walked one.
The game was scoreless until Gallipolis scored three runs in the fourth inning.
Brody Thomas was hit by a pitch, Jeremy Brumfield bunted for a hit and Kaden Thomas was safe on a fielder’s choice as a throwing error on the play scored Thomas.
Dylan Smith then reached on an error scoring Brumfield and Thomas came home when Braden Smith grounded out.
John Stout hit a solo home run leading off the fifth for the final run.
On Monday, Rock Hill is at Fairland and Gallipolis visits South Point.
