CHESAPEAKE — Brooke Webb’s middle initial isn’t K, but you couldn’t convince the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings.

Webb struck out 14 as the Chesapeake Lady Panthers blanked the Lady Vikings 5-0 on Thursday.

Webb walked two and gave up six hits. Jordan Storms backed her pitching by going 2-3 with two RBI.

“Webb was throwing the ball pretty well. She was just trying to locate a lot of stuff and she did for the most part,” said Lady Panthers’ coach Aaron Rice. “Jordan Storms and Lyric Bair have been hitting behind Webb and that’s helped our offense.”

The Lady Panthers (10-10) went up 2-0 in the first inning.

Ryleigh Swann led off with a double, Brooke Webb walked and Jordan Storms had an RBI single. An outfield error on the hit allowed Webb to score.

The lead went to 4-0 in the second inning.

Lunsford and Chloe Handley singled and Katy Spears had a two-out, two-run double.

The final run scored in the fifth when Webb singled, went to second on an error and scored on Storms’ base hit.

Chesapeake visits Ashland on Friday.
