William Roach

May 10, 1927 — May 4, 2017

William Ervin Roach, 89, of Waterloo, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at his residence.
The Lawrence County, Ohio native was born May 10, 1927, a son of the late Emil and Jenny Miller Roach. He is survived by his wife, Juanita M. Straight Roach, whom he married September 29, 1951.
Mr. Roach was a 1945 graduate of Waterloo High School and a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Europe and Germany during World War II. He was also a former machinist and pattern maker for Amcast Inc., retiring in 1994 after 41 years of service. He was a member of the Waterloo Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Symmes Valley VFW Post #2761.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester Roach and Charles Roach, and two sisters, Anna Gill and Mildred Wells.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Larry (Rona) Roach and Tony Roach, both of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Eden Roach of Flatwoods, Kentucky, Ivy Roach of Ironton, and Twyla Roach of Waterloo; four great grandchildren, Raven Sage Roach, Raylon Cain Haight, of Flatwoods, Ozzy Roach and Midas Roach, of Ironton.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Waterloo Methodist Church, with Pastor Mark Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in Flagsprings Cemetery and visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

 

William Schneider

Feb. 15, 1949 — May 5, 2017

William Edward Schneider, 68 of South Point, died Friday, May 5, 2017 at King’s Daughters’ Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point with his nephew, Tony Schneider officiating.  Burial will follow at Getaway Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 15, 1949 in Huntington, West Virginia, a son of the late Robert Henry Schneider and Betty Jane Nichols Schneider. He served in the Army Reserves and was a former member of Getaway United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald H. Schneider.  Survivors include two sisters, Wanda Lee Swatman and Connie Sue Thompson; a brother, Jerry Lynn Schneider; a sister-in-law, Joan Schneider; and several nieces and nephews.

Jimene Holland

Jimene Dawn Holland, 57, of Crown City, died Thursday May 4, 2017 at Sunset Nursing Home in Coal Grove.  There will be no services.  Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville is in charge of arrangements.

 

Peggy Waller

Peggy Sue Waller, 73, of Huntington, died Friday May 5, 2017 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington.  Private family services will be held.  Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is in charge of arrangements.

James Napier

James Ronald Napier, 69, of Huntington, died Thursday May 4, 2017 at home.  Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete.

John Burks

John Burks; 71 of Ironton, Ohio died Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Kentucky. Arrangements are pending, the family has entrusted his care to Brown Funeral Chapel.

Kathleen Vanderpool

Kathleen Gail Vanderpool, 65, of Coal Grove, wife of Karl Dean Vanderpool, died Friday, May 5, 2017 at the James Cancer Hospital, Columbus.  Slack and Wallace Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements which are incomplete. www.slackandwallace.com.

Judith Schwab

Judith “Pete” Schwab, 66, of Ironton, died Friday, May 5, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center.  There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South 7th Street, Ironton, with Rev.
