HUNTINGTON — Huntington Tri-State Airport is pleased to announce that the 2017 seasonal service between Huntington and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, has been extended, and will operate a month longer.

The non-stop Myrtle Beach flights, provided by Allegiant Airlines, resumed Friday, May 5, and will continue through Oct. 29.

Airport Director Jerry Brienza said the service has been extremely popular since Allegiant initiated the route in 2009.

“There is no question that Myrtle Beach is a favorite vacation spot for this region, and this non-stop service has been a huge hit with our area travelers,” he said. “We’re looking forward to another great season with our Myrtle Beach flights.”

During the month of May, the flight operates two times weekly, with service on Mondays and Fridays. The frequency increases to four times weekly beginning in June, with service on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
“The extended season is particularly great for our local golfers, who enjoy going down for a few days and playing at some of the best golf courses in the south,” Tri-State Airport Marketing Director Beckie McKinley said. “Everyone really appreciates the short flight of just over an hour, which allows them more time to enjoy the sun and fun while they’re there.”
