Donna Gail Clifton
March 6, 1948 – June 23, 2017
Donna Gail Clifton, 69, of Lawrence County passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 at Kings Daughter Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Lawrence County native was born March 6, 1948, a daughter of the late Lonnie and Rebecca Anderson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Clifton, who passed away in November, 2009.
Mrs. Clifton attended Dawson Bryant Schools and was of the Baptist faith. She loved hummingbirds, crocheting and her two cats, Sami and Bella.
She is survived by three sons, James E. Clifton II of Delaware, Ohio, Lonnie (Mary) Clifton of Ironton, and Jason W. Clifton of Pedro; two daughters, Christina D. (Robert) Reynolds of Huntington, West Virginia, and Jessica Clifton (Darrell Kearns, Sr.) Thompson of Willow Wood; nine grandchildren, Josh (Paige) Clifton, Jordan Clifton, Kerri (Joshua) Bryan, Nikki Reynolds, Hannah Reynolds, Cody Thompson, Trent (Heather) Thompson, Curtis and Catlyn Lybrand; and three great grandchildren, Silas Clifton, and Mylah and Rylan Bryan.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, with Reverend Jim Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Aid Cemetery. Marie Gilmore Douglas
December 21, 1930 – June 23, 2017
Marie Anthony Gilmore Douglas, 86, of Ironton, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 at a local health care facility. The Landville, West Virginia native was born on December 21, 1930 to the late William and Gladys Burgess Anthony. She was also preceded in death by her two husbands, David Gilmore, who passed away in 1968, and James Douglas, who passed in 2004.
Marie was a 1948 graduate off Hanging Rock High School, and was a case manager for the Department of Human Services for 20 years, from where she retired in 1995. Before she went to work for the Department of Human Services, she was a legal secretary and court recorder for the Common Pleas Court of Lawrence County. Marie also loved to read, cook, travel and spend time with her family.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Ann Reeder and Mary Lou Roach, and two sons, Michael Gilmore and Robert Gilmore.
She is survived by two sons, William “Bill” (Debbie) Gilmore of Ironton, and Brian (Cheri) Gilmore of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and by fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be noon, Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Woodland Cemetery in Ironton with Rev. Steve Harvey officiating. Family and friends will meet at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 South 6th Street Ironton, at 11:30 a.m. for a processional to the cemetery.
Marie’s family would like to invite all of her friends after the graveside service to Frisch’s Big Boy in Ironton to relive the good times they shared and wonderful memories of Marie.

Tressie (Patty) Brammer
November 9, 1927 – June 23, 2017
Tressie Todella (Patty) Brammer age 89 of Coal Grove, passed away Friday June 23, 2017 at Sanctuary of the Ohio Valley. She was born in East Lynn, West Virginia, on November 9, 1927 to the late Emual and Avis Mays Lester. She was a member of Leatherwood Church, as well as a member of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Opal and Orville Pinson; and brother and sister-in-law Edgar and Wanda Lester.
She is survived by two sisters and one brother-in-law, Bonnie Clay, and Elizabeth and Paul Swoveland; and a niece, Carolyn Waggoner. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 27, from 10- 10:30 a.m. at O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. in Leatherwood Cemetery, Pastor Mike Huff officiating.
