Donald Lambert

Oct. 11, 1930 — July 1, 2017

Donald Ray Lambert, 86, of Kitts Hill went home to be with his Lord and Savior July 1, 2017.
Mr. Lambert was born in Kitts Hill on Oct. 11, 1930, a son to the late Frank Lambert and Mary Elizabeth Delong Lambert.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jeannine Heaberlin Lambert, whom he married Sept. 17, 1951; sons, Steven (Cindy) Lambert, Randall Lambert, David (Rebecca) Lambert and Kevin Lambert; daughter, Lecia (Wesley) Lambert Menshouse; grandchildren, Mary (Joe) Ferguson, Nathan (Holly) Lambert, Martha (Matthew) Wilson, Tonnette (Nick) Hoffman, Allison Lambert, Sarah (Jay) Cooper, Jonathan (Analy) Lambert, Noah and Faith Lambert, Sarah (Anton) Brock, Rikki Fraley, Jared (Madison)Bruce, Jacob Bruce, Taylor (Suzanna) Menshouse and Morgan Menshouse; and great-grandchildren, Marley Ferguson, Ellinor Hoffman, Colt, Heidi and Eden Lambert, Mayla and Molly Wilson, Gabby Brock, and Wesley Menshouse.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Adalee Lambert, Louise Gaylord, Elsie Fearing, and Helen Millhouse; brothers, Warren Lambert and Frank Lambert Jr.; and a daughter-in-law, Donna Lambert.
Mr. Lambert was a faithful member of Mamre Baptist Church for 63 years.  He was a 1950 graduate of Kitts Hill High School, where he played basketball. He was a member of the Rock Hill Board of Education, Lawrence County Board of Education, Lawrence County General Hospital Board, a Lawrence County Central committeeman for 30 years, a Lawrence County Commissioner for eight years and on the board of directors for Ohio Youth Development Corp. and 4-H advisors for 12-plus years. He had a passion for farming and caring for the land.
He worked for Alpha Portland Cement, Cement Solvay, Ashland Oil distributor and was road supervisor for the Lawrence County engineer.
He and his wife, Jeannine, were owners and operators of Lambert’s Market in Aid and Hecla.
Don was a very loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He loved his Lord and Savior and Mamre Baptist church family, and community.
The Lambert family will receive friends 4-p.m., Wednesday at Mamre Baptist Church, State Route 141, Kitts Hill. Funeral service will be follow at 7 p.m., with Rev. Ryan McKee, Rev. John Paul Patterson, Rev. Chuck Herrell officiating.  Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Mamre Cemetery.
The family request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Mamre Cemetery Association Board, P.O. Box 725, Ironton, Ohio 45638.
Pallbearers will be  Jared Bruce, Jacob Bruce, Jonathan Lambert, Noah Lambert, Nathan Lambert, Colt Lambert, Joe Ferguson and Matt Wilson.

Leveta Wells

Leveta Jewell Wells, 83, of Proctorville, died Saturday July 1, 2017 at home.  A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington, West Virginia.   Entombment will follow.  There will be no visitation.  Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.
