Brian Malone

Feb. 5, 1957 — July 8, 2017

Brian Keith Malone, 60, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia.
The Lawrence County native was born Feb. 5, 1957, the son of the late Orvil and Jewel Taylor Malone. He is survived by his wife, Rose Hardy Malone, whom he married on March 26, 1978.
Brian was a 1975 graduate of Symmes Valley High School and a mechanic for Fields Excavating. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Orville Malone, Jr. and David Malone; and father-in-law, Robert Hardy.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Crystal (Donald) Argabrite, of Greenup, Kentucky, Michelle (Jeremy) Weaver, of New Boston, and Brittany Malone, of Ironton; sister, Cora Lee Ison, of Columbus; two brothers, Phillip Malone, of Waterloo, and Dean Malone, of Louisville, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Bishop, of Ironton; brother-in-law, Frank Hardy, of Ironton; mother-in-law, Mary Hardy, of Ironton; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ida Payne

Feb. 18, 1927 — July 9, 2017
Ida Mae Payne, 90, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017, at her residence.
Mrs. Payne was born Feb. 18, 1927, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, a daughter to the late Elbert and Rebecca (Hall) Gibson.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, James L. Payne, whom she married Nov. 25, 1967.
Mrs. Payne attended Centerville School. Mrs. Payne was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning her fresh vegetables and fruits, and cooking. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She attended McDaniels CrossRoads Pentecostal Church in Patriot, and First Tabernacle Church in Ironton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Edith Reynolds; and three brothers, James Gibson, Curtis Gibson and Everett Gibson.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Brenda (Philip) Fields, Gail Campbell and Cheri Smith, all of Flatwoods, Kentucky; son, Donnie Miller, of Worthington, Kentucky; two stepsons, James A Payne, Sr., of Midland, Michigan, and John Payne, of Ironton; sister, Dolly Owens, of Bluff City, Tennessee; brother, Brynton Gibson, of Springfield; and pallbearers, Shawn Still, Philip Fields, Sammy Smith, Elijah Mullins, John Burt, Timothy Payne and Gene Whaley.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with Brother Brynton Gibson and pastor Jim Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Aid Cemetery. The Payne family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Sharon Kay Bell, 61, of Proctorville, died Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Heartland of Riverview, South Point. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Bell.
