Next Tuesday, The Christ Temple Youth Band will perform at the Tuesday Downtown Concert Series at the Ironton Farmers Market.

The weekly events, which take place at 6:30 p.m., run through late August and highlight a variety of local and regional acts, as well as show off the downtown space, where consumers can find locally-grown produce on Fridays and Saturdays.

In the digital era, it is still important to take time out to socialize with one’s community, and events like the concert series provide an excellent venue for community gatherings and help local musical talent to thrive.

In addition, the concert series draws traffic to downtown, where people can sample local businesses and restaurants, such as the newly-opened Chatroom Café on South Second Street, or Consigned Books, located on South Third Street.

We commend Ironton aLive, who organizes the concerts, as well as producers Studimo, iHeart Media, and sponsors Phillips Funeral Home, Glockner Dealerships, Perry Distribution, WesBanco and Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital for all their efforts in bringing this summer series to the city.
