HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The Marshall Ticket Office announced the addition of a Big Green member exclusive sports pass available for the 2017-18 year, named the Herd Hopper.
The Herd Hopper will go on sale Monday and can be purchased online on HerdZone.com as well as by calling 800-THE-HERD.
“The Herd Hopper is a new ticketing option that we are giving our Big Green members to purchase this year,” said Associate Athletics Director Aaron Goebbel.
“Buying a Herd Hopper will give the holder admission into all ticketed events for the year, excluding Marshall football and men’s basketball games.”
The Herd Hopper will act like a season ticket for most of the ticketed Marshall sports and will replace the Olympic Sports Pass that was offered previously by the Ticket Office.
Each Herd Hopper will give the holder one (1) admission into events of the following sports: men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, track and field, women’s basketball and baseball.
An individual Herd Hopper will be $30 for anyone who is a 2017-18 Big Green Scholarship Foundation member, but there also will be a Family Pack option that includes four Herd Hoppers for only $99.
Each Herd Hopper is good for one (1) admission to the athletic event, so the Family Pack option will give the buyer and family four (4) admissions into all ticketed sports, excluding football and men’s basketball. Included in the Family Pack option will be two limited edition Marshall scarves that will be complimentary with the purchase.
“Including scarves in the Family Pack option was very important to us as we are trying to push the value of becoming a season ticket holder,” Director of Ticketing Cole Woodrum said.
“We are trying to add additional perks for our season ticket holders like these scarves for Herd Hopper buyers, as well as holding an exclusive cookout for all of our football season ticket holders. Our fan base starts with our season ticket holders and donors, so we want to make sure our ticket benefits start there as well.”
Herd Hoppers and this year’s VIP custom scarves will be mailed the week of August 21 in time for the first Hopper event of the year, when Marshall men’s soccer faces off with UNC Ashville on August 25.
Those wishing to pick up their packages at the game that evening can select the will call option when purchasing.
Individual game tickets for these sports can still be purchased online prior to the event or at the ticket window starting one hour prior to the event start time.
Adult tickets for all soccer, volleyball, and women’s basketball games will be $7, while youth tickets (under 18) will be $5. Groups of 10 or more will be $3.
