PROCTORVILLE — An arts and craft show is scheduled for Proctorville from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9.

Margie Whitley, who is organizing the event, said it will take place at the village park on Wilgus Street and that they are seeking vendors.

In addition to crafts, she said there will be food, face painting and rock painting.

Whitley had approached the village council last month, suggesting the need for a community event and, at the suggestion of Mayor Richard Dunfee, began the process of organizing the show. She presented her finalized plans to the council at Thursday’s meeting.

She said she hopes this year’s event could serve as a trial run and that it could be expanded into an Old Fashioned Days or larger event in the future.
