Blue Angels sweep match from Tigers

The Gallipolis Blue Angels came into Thursday’s game unbeaten and leading the Ohio Valley Conference volleyball race.
They left the same way.
Gallipolis downed the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers in straight sets, 25-13, 25-16 and 25-20.
Ironton took a 17-10 lead in the third set before Gallipolis rallied to win the set and the game.
The Blue Angels have won 20 straight OVC games — all in straight sets — during their three years in the league. They have also won 28 straight regular season matches.
Gallipolis won the jayvee match 25-20, 25-14.

Chesapeake tops RH
PEDRO — The Chesapeake Lady Panthers beat the Rock Hill Redwomen in straight sets on Thursday in an Ohio Valley Conference volleyball game.
Chesapeake won 25-22, 25-16 and 25-14.
Senior Taylor Hall led Rock Hill with seven kills.

South Point beats CG
COAL GROVE — The South Point Lady Pointers took a tough four-set volleyball game against the Coal Grove Lady Hornets on Thursday.
South Point won the Ohio Valley Conference game 25-15, 25-19, 13-25 and 25-22.
Sara Allen had 13 points and Holly Ramey 10 to lead the Lady Pointers. Maddy Khounlavong added eight points and Emily Winkler seven.
Mattie Malone had 13 points, Addi Dillow 10 and Lauren Meyer eight for the Lady Hornets.
