Lawrence Frazer

March 3, 1943 — Sept. 14, 2017

Lawrence Evan Frazer, 74, of Ironton, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, at Ashland Community Hospice. The Ironton native was born on March 9, 1943, the son of the late Harry Lawrence Frazer and Ruth Ann Frazer.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Phyllis Kathryn (Sue) Evans Frazer, whom he married on Aug. 17, 1963.
Lawrence attended Ironton High School. He was a steelworker at Firestone Steel in Wyandote, Michigan, and worked at Lawrence County CAO and Park Avenue Carry-Out, where many friends were made.
He loved attending the Ironton High School football games, enjoyed bowling, fishing, family and, most of all, enjoyed time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles (Junie) Cochran and Ralph Lee Frazer; one sister, Marlene Frazer; and a sister-in-law, the late Lucille (Ronnie) Burns.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Melinda Rene (Brett) Thomas, of Ironton; four grandchildren, Brittney, Brycen, Brae-Leigh and Braegan Thomas; three brothers, James (Buddy) Cochran, Keith (Susan) Frazer and Rick (Rose) Frazer; four sisters, Sharon (Walter) DeLong, Teresa Frazer, Vicki (Jay) Lehman and Sandy Carty; and two brothers-in-law, Charles (Bonnie) Evans and James (Janie) Evans.
A memorial service for friends and family will be held at First Baptist Church of Ironton at 6 p.m. on Sunday in the fellowship hall.

John Norman Childers

John Norman Childers, 93, of Proctorville, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, at home.  John is survived by his wife of 70 years, Opal Ayers Childers. Funeral Service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Duane Smith. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville.
