COAL GROVE — The Coal Grove Lady Hornets were batting a thousand.
The Lady Hornets’ volleyball team won both games this week as they beat the St. Joseph Female Flyers in five sets on Tuesday and swept the Rock Hill Redwomen in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Thursday.
Coal Grove downed St. Joseph 12-25, 26-24, 20-25, 25-23 and 15-5 in the tiebreaker.
Kasey Murphy had nine points and 16 kills to lead the Lady Hornets.
As the second round OVC games began on Thursday, Coal Grove won a tough match 26-24, 25-22 and 26-24.
“Both teams played hard for every point,” said Coal Grove coach Tricia Damron.
Addi Dillow had 15 points and six kills, Taylor Reynolds seven points and six kills while Murphy had eight points and seven kills to pace the Lady Hornets.
