Richard Polachek-Plashek

Feb. 8, 1941 — Oct. 10, 2017

Richard Allen Polachek-Plashek, 76, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at his residence. The Tawas, Michigan native was born Feb. 8, 1941, the son of the late Joseph and Margarite Wilson Polachek. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Howell Polachek, whom he married Aug. 7, 2014.
Richard was a graduate of a school in Michigan and a truck driver for Independent Trucking Company, where he worked for 20 years. He loved hot rod cars, his dog “Little Bit,” and was a member of Indian Nation. He attended the Ohio Baptist Church in Ironton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons, Richard (Linda) Plashek Jr., of Standish, Michigan, Joseph Plashek, of Portsmouth, Dusty (Kim) Polachek, of Ashland, Kentucky, and Lee Polachek and Jason Polachek, both of Ironton; two daughters, Sandra (Dan) Rood, of Standish, Michigan, and Tammy Ellison, of West Virginia; grandchildren, Brittany Plashek, Tiffany Plashek, Laci Plashek, Melanie Plashek, Hunter Rood, Alex Rood, Emilie Ruby, Jennifer Conkel, Wesley Fipch, Michael Fipch, D.J. Polachek and Katie Fipch; and great-grandchildren, Gracie Ruby, Jaina Ruby, Jaxon Ruby, Ebony Hartwick, Alexis Conkel, Chase Conkel and Andrew Conkel.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Homer Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Hanging Rock Cemetery. Mrs. Glenna Faye Delong Holder, age 75, of Cookeville, Tennessee, formerly of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2017, at NHC in Cookeville. No services are planned.
Mrs. Holder was born Nov. 2, 1941, in Lawrence County, to Jessie Reed Delong, of Cookeville, and the late Isaac Delong Sr.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, William Holder; sister, Ruth Ann Ealey; and an infant son and daughter.
She was a retired supervisor at Wilson Sporting Goods with over 19 years of service.
Mrs. Holder was volunteer 4-H leader in Ohio. After moving to Tennessee, she attended Stevens Street Baptist Church, Cookeville First Baptist Church, and more recently, Copeland’s Chapel Baptist Church in Sparta, Tennessee.
Mrs. Holder loved to cook, bake, care for her family and friends, and teach Sunday School.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by three sons, Mike (Lisa) Cade, of Sparta, Tennessee, Kevin (Melissa) Cade, of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Donald R. (Kathy Jo) Cade, of Ironton; daughter, Teresa (Scott) Brown, of Carthage, Tennessee; two brothers, Issac Jr. (Patricia) Delong, of Ossineke, Michigan, and Charles Delong, of Lawrence County; sister, Sharon (Rod) Dillon, of Lawrence County; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Roberta Star Holley, 75, of Proctorville, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at home. A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Crown City Cemetery, Crown City. Burial will follow. Lisa Shawn Stambaugh Crisp, 51, of Ashland, Kentucky, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky. She is survived by her husband, James E. “Ned” Crisp. A graveside service will be noon Friday at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens, Flatwoods, with the Rev. James Wells officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Bailey Family Funeral Home, Flatwoods, Kentucky.

Larry Lee Callicoat, 49, of Gallipolis, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.
