The Tribune hosted a candidates’ forum on Tuesday to let voters know where those seeking the offices of Ironton Municipal Judge and Ironton City Council stand on the various issues.

We would like to thank all the candidates who attended the event at the Bowman Auditorium at Ohio University Southern.

This event was presented on Facebook Live as well as being in front of a large audience.

Running for office in our modern-day world means having your opinion and choices dissected by a community in a variety of ways.

We think that it takes bold sacrifices to choose to hold public office.

These current and future office holders are making decisions that the City of Ironton and Lawrence County will be guided by for decades to come.

The demands of the offices are relentless and mostly thankless.

We thank the candidates for taking to a public stage to get their message to the voting public.

We also thank the voters for their interest in the forum, whether they watched in person or on Facebook.

Now, let’s get out and vote, to work together and make sure we all put Ironton and Lawrence County front and center.
