Virginia Rowe

May 23, 1929 — Oct. 30, 2017

Virginia “Patty” Lee Rowe, 88, of South Point, passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. She was born May 23, 1929, in Ironton, a daughter of the late Wesley and Matha Dillon Belville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, William “Billy” Belville.
She was a member of the South Point Christian Church. Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, Keith Wilford Rowe; her beloved only child, Beverly, and husband, Greg Gaskin; two grandchildren, Shanna Lee (Gaskin) Aliff and Adam (Tiffany) Gaskin; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Gregory Aliff, Stella McKenzie Aliff and Grace Virginia Gaskin; and an expected great-granddaughter, Emma Kate Gaskin.
Patty was a devoted wife and mother and dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always gave of herself to others and was known for her cooking and baking skills.
Funeral services will be 5 p.m. Thursday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with pastor Terry Noble officiating. Friends may visit from 3-5 p.m. Thursday before the service at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton. Richard Riffitt Jr.

Richard Charles Riffit Jr. “RC,” 48, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at Blue Grass Hospice Care in Lexington, Kentucky, after a long struggle with diabetes.
Richard was born Feb. 1, 1969, in Ironton, to Richard Charles and Paul Jean Carey Riffitt. He worked in construction as a carpenter, he was a U.S. Army veteran and was of the Baptist faith.
Richard is survived by two daughters, Alexandria (Steven) Castle and Jordan Riffitt; a brother, Jamie (Stephanie) Riffitt; two sisters, Michelle (Eugene) Willoughby and Melanie Riffitt; two nieces, Morgan and McKenzie Willoughby; and a nephew, Jackson Willoughby.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home, Wheelersburg. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com.

Tennis Walsh Jr., 67, of Chesapeake, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, at home.

Robert Preston

Robert Scott Preston, 51, of Ashland, Kentucky, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky.
There will be no services. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
