John Goodwin

John K. (John-John) Goodwin, 46, died peacefully at home after a hard fought battle with melanoma.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jerrie Goodwin; son, Justin Goodwin; and a very special godson, Logan.
Also surviving are his loving parents, Barbara Sue Stormes and John P. Goodwin; brothers, Larry (Deana) Goodwin and Rob Leibee; nephews, Jack Goodwin, Brooks Leibee and Zachary Triplett; niece, Meagan Joseph; special nephew-in-law, Josh Joseph; special mother-in-law, Brenda Triplett; sister-in-law, Gena (Scott) Royce; brother-in-law, Jim (Jen) Triplett; father-in-law, James (Linda) Triplett.
John is also survived by his co-worker in prevention of 18 years, Molly Stevens; and adopted children, Grace (Kim) Seward, Johnna (Clayton) Seward and Kara Spencer. John also leaves behind an extended, much loved Marine family; GOLF Company 2/9, which includes golf sister, Donna Heikens, as well as Al Kennedy, Jim Maddox and Ron Bowen. There are also many aunts, uncles, friends and neighbors who reached out that the family also wants to thank, along with a special thank you to John’s longtime friend, James (Cathy) Kerns.
A celebration of John’s life will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the community building where John spent the last 18 years working with the children of our community, 624 S. Ninth Street, Ironton. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations for a scholarship fund being started in John’s name. Donations can be given to Jerrie Goodwin or Molly Stevens and/or mailed to P.O. Box 809 South Point, OH 45680.
