Miller nets 31 points in SSU win

PORTSMOUTH — The Shawnee State Bears were clinging to a 41-35 halftime lead over West Virginia Tech on Sunday.
Enter Hannah Miller.
The former St. Joseph Female Flyers’ All-Ohio guard scored 22 of her career-high 31 points in the second half as the Lady Bears pulled away to an easy 94-69 win.
Miller’s offensive explosion  led all scorers and she got plenty of help.
Madison Ridout scored 19 points and Lydia Poe had a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds. Shania Massie and Bailey Cummins scored 10 each.
Britney Justice scored 13 points to lead Tech.
Shawnee State is now 3-0 on the season and leads the all-time series 13-1. Tech fell to 1-1.
Shawnee State was up 21-13 after the first quarter and 41-35 at the half.
Miller then got the hot hand as the Lady Bears built as much as a 30-point lead in the second half.
Shawnee State visits Martin Methodist at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday to begin the Mid-South Conference/Southern States Athletic Conference Challenge in McKenzie, TN.
