Several levies pass across county; ADAMHS funding levy fails
Voters in Lawrence County passed a levy funding Lawrence County Emergency Medical Services on Tuesday night.
With 83 of 84 precincts counted, the 2-mill countywide EMS levy was ahead, 57 to 43 percent.
A half-mill levy up for renewal, to fund Collins Career Technical Center also passed by the same margin.
However, a levy to fund the Scioto, Adams and Lawrence County ADAMHS Board failed to pass in Lawrence County, 67 to 33 percent. The levy would require a majority of voters in the three counties covered. It was also defeated in Scioto and Adams counties.
Cities and villages also voted on levies, with voters approving all.
In Ironton, voters renewed a half-mill levy to fund recreation activities and services, 57 to 43 percent.
Voters in Chesapeake approved a police funding levy, 53 to 47 percent, while Perry Township’s fire levy was passed, 67 to 33 percent and Rome Tonship’s fire levy was approved, 69 to 31 percent.
