Linda Jennings

Jan. 31, 1955 — Nov. 12, 2017

Linda Carol Howell Combs Jennings, 62, of Hanging Rock, passed away peacefully, Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, in Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia.
Mrs. Jennings was born Jan. 31, 1955, in Lawrence County, a daughter to the late Sherman and Mildred (Dennison) Howell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David “Gary” Jennings, who passed away Sept. 4, 2015.
Linda was a 1973 graduate of Ironton High School and attended W.V. Career College and Ohio University Southern. She was a former contestant of Mrs. West Virginia and Mrs. America. Linda was the owner and operator of Rent a Stork, and known as the “Stork Woman of Huntington.” She was the first woman to be president of Garden Farm Civic Association. She was a member of Plymouth Heights Church of the Nazarene and a former member of Hanging Rock Church of Nazarene.
Linda is survived by three daughters, Rebecca (Gregory) Massie, Regina Combs and Hollie (George) Hall; son, Nicholas Jennings; four grandchildren, Logan Ratliff, Noah Ratliff, Elijah Mills and Nathan Mills; sister, Brenda Gibson; and three brothers, Gary Howell, Dale Howell and Kenneth Howell.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. James Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Hanging Rock Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Barbara Kimbler

Barbara Ann Kimbler, 84, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at her residence. Barbara was born Feb. 2, 1933, in Ironton to the late Rev. Fred and Margaret Riley Breece.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Jack Kimbler; a daughter, Karen Lynn Kimbler; a son, Jackie Edward Kimbler; and two sisters, Charlotte Faye Kiser and Norma Jean Breece.
She is survived by one brother, Richard Breece; nieces, Pam Breece, Kim Breece, Barbara Martin and Kathy Gallion; nephews, Mark Breece, James Kiser and Allen Kiser; and many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home, Wheelersburg. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Ray Easterling

Ray Edmon Easterling, 70, of Ashland, Kentucky, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky.
A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery NE, Grayson, Kentucky. A memorial service will be noon Saturday at Gospel Light Baptist Church, Ashland, Kentucky. Ruth Ann Rice

Ruth Ann Rice, 83, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, at Woodland Oaks, Ashland, Kentucky. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with pastor Jim Pridemore officiating.

Paul R. Dupree Jr., 70, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at Southern Ohio Medical Center, Portsmouth. A private graveside service will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Venora Lucas, 84, of Proctorville, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.

Willard DePriest, 74, of Grayson, Kentucky, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky. The family has entrusted his care to Brown Funeral Chapel, Ironton.

Alma Scarberry

Alma Mae Scarberry, 74, of Scottown, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, at Crystal Care, Coal Grove. There will be no services. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
