The following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring long-term lane restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system in Lawrence County.

• A sign replacement and installation project is under way on U.S. 52, between the Ashland twin bridges at Coal Grove to the West Huntington bridge, and on State Route 7, from its junction/split with U.S. 52 at Chesapeake to State Route 775 at Proctorville. Throughout construction, there should be little impact to traffic, and traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one lane in each direction as needed when crews are at work. All work is scheduled for completion by late fall.

• A culvert replacement project is under way on U.S. 52. The project site is situated immediately west of the route’s intersection with Charley Creek Road, and throughout construction, there should be little to no impact to traffic. The project is scheduled to be completed in late fall

• State Route 93 is reduced to one, 12-foot lane between Buckhorn-Pine Creek Road and Kimball Creek Road for a bridge replacement project. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained by temporary signals. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-fall.

• State Route 93 is reduced to one, 10-foot lane between Sawmill Hollow Road and Mt. Vernon-Howard Ridge Road, one mile north of State Route 373, for a bridge replacement project. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with temporary signals. All work is anticipated to be completed in mid-fall.

• Major construction of the new Ironton-Russell Bridge has been completed, and the new bridge is open to traffic. Crews will be completing minor finishing work on the structure as weather permits; however, there should be little impact to traffic.
