Mary Alice Jenkins

March 22, 1957 — Nov. 20, 2017

Mary Alice Harper Jenkins, 60, of Chesapeake, passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
The  Ironton native was born March 22, 1957, a daughter of the late Harold Earl and Audrey Louise Clifton Harper. She is survived by her husband, Frederick Ray Jenkins, Sr., whom she married Nov. 8, 1977.
Mrs. Jenkins attended Rock Hill High School and was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Payton Jenkins; and two brothers-in-law, Charlie (Beverly) Jenkins and Raymond Jenkins.
She is survived by three daughters, Kimberly Crabtree, of Coal Grove, Tina Jenkins, of Chesapeake, and Bonny (Lewis) Hull, of St. Joe County, Michigan; a son, Frederick Jenkins Jr., of Chesapeake; two brothers, Harold (Sharon) Harper and William (Verina) Harper; two sisters, Amanda (Larry) Brandom and Vickie Long; three brothers-in-law, Tom Jenkins, Ogle (Lou) Jenkins and Alvin (Marlene) Jenkins; five sisters-in-law, Beth Ann Sparks, Mary (Dave) Sparks, Connie Robinson, Sadie (Woody) Sparks, and Juanita (Mike) Colley; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several friends.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery and visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

Samuel Ellis Barker, 73, of South Point, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with pastor Randy Tait officiating.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Charlotte Elizabeth Poynter, 88, of Chesapeake, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington.  Funeral service will be conducted 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory.
