PEDRO — Free throws are important in any game, some more than others.
The Rock Hill Redmen struggled with their foul shooting for the second straight game and lost another heartbreaker in a 52-49 loss to the Green Bobcats on Saturday.
In a 54-50 loss to Wellston on Friday, the Redmen were only 8-of-17 at the foul line. Against the Bobcats the Redmen were just 11-of-21.
Green converted 20-of-27 attempts.
Kadin France led the Redmen with 19 points and Brayden Stamper scored 15.
Tanner Kimbler scored 22 points, Gage Sampson 13 and Tayte Carver 10 to lead the Bobcats.
Rock Hill (0-2) took a 14-12 first quarter lead as France scored eight points. Kimbler and Carver combinted for nine points.
Rock Hill managed only a 3-pointer by Logan Hankins and two foul shots by France in the second quarter as Green took a 24-19 halftime lead.
Kimbler scored five points and Gage Sampson had four in the quarter.
The Redmen got within 36-35 at the end of the third quarter as Stamper scored seven points. Stamper and Hankins each hit a triple in the quarter.
Sampson had six points for the Bobcats.
Green was 7-of-7 from the foul line in the fourth quarter with Kimbler scoring seven points including 5-of-5 at the line.
The Redmen were 5-of-8 from the line in the quarter.
Rock Hill hosts St. Joseph on Tuesday.
