Jackie Williams

Jan. 3, 1930 — Dec. 6, 2017

Jackie L. Williams, 87, of Franklin Furnace, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017. Born Jan. 3, 1930, in Ashland, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Leslie and Cassie (Gullett) Williams, and attended Midland Baptist Church in Midland City.
Jack was in the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Whetsone and the USS Gunston Hall. He was best known for being a co-owner of the House of Bargains in Wheelersburg, and collecting pop cans. Retiring from Sement Solvay, he enjoyed going to flea markets and auctions.
Also preceding him in death was his only sister, Barbara Niemer.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Mabel (Matney) Williams, whom he married on July 25, 1949; two daughters, Debbie (Randy) Blevins, of Wheelersburg, and Terry (Roger) Phipps, of Heath; six grandchildren, Jeanette McCoy, Angie Adkins, Lisa Blevins, Matthew Rhoden, Chris Rhoden and Crystal Rhoden; a great-granddaughter, Katie Faith McCoy; and several other great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Brant Funeral Home, Sciotoville, with Elder Rex Smith officiating. Interment will be in Haverhill Cemetery, Franklin Furnace. The family will receive guests after 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. www.brantfuneralservice.com.

Lisa McFann

Lisa Marie Willis McFann, 35, of Ashland, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, in Flatwoods Kentucky.
She was born in Ashland, Kentucky on July 17, 1982, a daughter of Sharon Louise Craft Willis, of Wurtland, Kentucky, and the late David Earl Willis.
She is survived, along with her mother, by her husband, William Joseph McFann; two sons, Jacob Alexander Willis, of Argillite, Kentucky, and Tyson O’Dell Dameron of Ft. Gay West Virginia; a daughter, Katherine Marie McFann “Katie Bug,” of Argillite, Kentucky; her best friend, LaToshia Rigsby; and a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky, by Brother Scott Hill. Burial will follow in the Baker Cemetery, Grayson Kentucky. The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Owen Stormes Jr.

Owen Dale Jack Stormes Jr., 40, of Ironton, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife, Nicole B. Steele Stormes.
Funeral service will be noon Saturday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Leatherwood Cemetery, Kitts Hill. William Schaffer

William “Bill” H. Schaffer, 91, of Ironton, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at Heartland of Riverview Nursing Facility, South Point.
Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast, Greenup, Kentucky. Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
